Key Stage 1

At Key Stage One our pupils follow and go beyond the National Curriculum, expanding their understanding and skills in an exciting and stimulating environment, as we prepare them for lifelong learning. They also begin to play a fuller part in the life of the school. We work to develop each individual's creativity and place an emphasis on reading and number.

The house system is an important part of our pastoral care. The children are organised into four houses (St Anthony's, St Martin's, St Cecilia's and St Patrick's) for sports, quizzes, games and other activities. In this way children build relationships with their House Teachers and House Mates throughout their life in our school.

Each term parents are given a "curriculum map", giving an outline of the topics to be covered. Parents are encouraged to talk to their children about what they are learning and to support them in their work.
