All of our pupils are taught by our specialist Teacher of Physical Education. Our spacious school hall is well equipped for Gymnastics and indoor games. Children are entered for the British Amateur Gymnastics Association awards. The juniors are fortunate to have their own netball/tennis court and are able to make use of the Senior School’s Sports field.

Inspiring children since 1848
The grounds are used for cross-country runs, athletics, rounders, football and cricket. Each year the children compete with other schools at football, netball and cricket and we enter a team in the Southern Counties Cross-country Race and the Independent Schools’ Cross-country Championships. Our Year 6 pupils attend the Citizenship Activity Course every two years, run by Croydon Police and learn much about personal safety.

Staff offer a wide range of sports activities including: all main sports, orienteering, kwik-cricket, table tennis, tag-rugby and rounders. We also arrange a two-week sports and activities camp in the summer holidays.

All the children from Year 2 upwards take fortnightly swimming lessons and work towards the Amateur Swimming Association’s awards. Swimming Teams from the school compete with local independent schools and take part in the Croydon Schools’ and Independent Schools’ Galas.
